The owners of this oceanfront property hired SV Design to create a vacation home that would delight family and visitors for years to come. Hearing what they loved about past family properties, and understanding the clients’ functional and lifestyle needs, we worked closely with them to create a welcome, flexible space they could share comfortably with their family and friends.

We started by moving the main living spaces to the second floor, maximizing the coastal views. Rooms were specifically designed to accommodate a range of activities and visiting guests. A bunk room can accommodate up to six kids, allowing some privacy while still being in close range of their parent’s bedrooms. Two additional guest rooms are on the other side of the house, one with direct access to an outdoor shower. A guest suite above the garage is a private retreat with its own bathroom and kitchenette.

To facilitate entertaining, the spacious kitchen opens up to the living room, while the addition of the full bar adds a fun central element for evening gatherings. The surrounding water views make the perfect backdrop for cheerful colors and patterned wallpaper throughout. Outside, the playful touches keep going: a slide, designed to hold adults as well as children, connects the rear stair landing to the back deck.
