Their priorities focused on thoughtful design, evolving from a restoration of a small summer cottage into a new home, well sited on a narrow lot. The home reflects the tastes of the owners, who remained involved through every step of the process. The design of the property is aesthetically pleasing, creative, and functional; most of all, it fulfilled the visions of the clients.

From the start, the owners had a clear vision: natural shingles with dark trim for the exterior, paired with interiors that felt distinct from their city home. Every detail mattered, from the overall aesthetic to the smallest functional considerations, ensuring the home reflected their lifestyle and personality. They envisioned more than bedrooms and bathrooms; they wanted spaces that encouraged connection, comfort, and enjoyment. A screened-in room and a sunroom were essential, offering spaces to relax, entertain, and watch the seasons change.

Key trends in innovative universal locker room design that were applied to the Sterling YMCA spaces include amplified convenience with an increased number of sinks, changing spaces, showers, and toilets, along with enhanced traffic flow to reduce congestion and ensure a safe environment, especially for members moving between the wet pool and drier areas of the locker room. Additionally, the state-of-the-art, ADA-compliant design fosters an environment that embraces diversity and inclusivity.

Warm wood tones and modern black accents were thoughtfully combined to create a balance of sophistication and comfort. The marble island became the centerpiece of the kitchen, creating a large space to gather around. Deeply involved throughout the process, the client created vision boards that ensured every corner of the home reflected their personality and style.
